Warm congratulations to PhD candidate Allison Petrozziello who has won an International Development Research Centre (IDRC) 2019 Doctoral Research Award, which will go towards funding her field research in the Dominican Republic next summer. The title of her project funded by IDRC is “Birth registration as bordering practice: A feminist ethnography of intergenerational statelessness and social exclusion in the Dominican Republic.”
The IDRC awards are intended to increase research capacity in Canada and the Global South to improve lives and livelihoods. They are open to Canadians, permanent residents of Canada, and citizens from countries in the Global South who are pursuing doctoral studies at Canadian universities.
